The band was set up by two talented young musicians:
Raffaele Kohler (trumpet) and
Luciano Macchia (trombone).
Over the course of the years, the band made some adjustments to line-up
and style, until it reached the actual 6-piece line-up that exists
today: as well as trumpet and trombone, Ottavo Richter comprises
Domenico Mamone (baritone sax),
Paolo Xeres (drums),
Marco Xeres (electric bass) and
Alessandro Sicardi (guitar).
Having received good publicity from the start - including reviews in
major newspapers and publications - the band has also enjoyed success
through collaborations with some of Italy’s most influential jazz
